When you need to cool down, you have plenty of options - we are not called the Great Lakes State for nothing.

You don't have to travel to the Great Lakes to hit the water; there are plenty of options right here in Genesee County.

This was the beach spot when I was a kid. I’ll never forget the time my dad dozed off in the sun and ended up rolling right down the hill toward the water.

At the time, I was so embarrassed - but now, my sisters and I still crack up about it.

Here's to a fun summer at Silver Lake Park, and be careful if you fall asleep on the hill.
