Spartans Change Name to ‘MSU Spartans Presented by Rocket Mortgage’
The Spartans will have a new name for the 2021-2022 season.
Looks like Michigan State University Athletics has struck up a deal with Rocket Mortgage for the next few years. The new five-year deal will see the Spartans rebranded as the "MSU Spartans Presented by Rocket Mortgage" starting in the 2021-2022 season.
With this new partnership, fans and students will see new branding from Rocket Mortgage throughout the Breslin Center and Spartan Stadium. Even fans watching from home will see the changes with product placements throughout the university's athletic facilities including branding on the men's and women's basketball team benches and logos place on the football coach's headset.
Michigan State Athletics couldn't compete at the highest levels without the support of our corporate partners like Rocket Mortgage...We are appreciative of Rocket's continued commitment to the Spartans and their unwavering support of our programs...said Bill Beekman, Michigan State's Director of Athletics.
The partnership between Michigan State University and Rocket Mortgage started back in 2015 at a smaller level.
Michigan State University is very important to our company. It is the alma mater of our Founder and Chairman Dan Gilbert, me, and many team members throughout our organization. We are honored to contribute to the university that has prepared so many of us for success...It is our hope that our presence in MSU Athletics will make students and athletes more aware of the opportunities for them right here in Detroit with Rocket Mortgage and the many other growing companies in the city...said Jay Farner, CEO of Detroit-based Rocket Mortgage.
