Michigan, Get Ready to Spring Forward: Here’s When It Happens
Daylight Saving Time in Michigan is right around the corner. Sure, it’s supposed to be a sign that spring is on the way - but every year, it somehow feels less like a celebration and more like us versus the clock.
When we 'spring forward', we lose an hour of sleep, trading it for longer daylight in the evenings - a swap that is great after work, but not so great when the alarm goes off the next morning.
I don’t know why I still ask, but… why do we keep doing this? At this point, I am convinced Daylight Saving Time won’t end in my lifetime.
On a brighter note, at least we are not 'falling back' - for now.
When is Daylight Saving Time in Michigan for 2026?
Daylight Saving Time in the Great Lakes State starts on March 8th, 2026, at 2:00 AM.
Gone are the days when the time change could be used as an excuse. Most of our devices will update automatically, so if you want to miss out on something boring or lame later that day, you will need a better excuse than Daylight Saving Time.

For those of you with kids or pets, you have probably already realized this - neither of them cares at all about the time change. Bedtimes, wake-up calls, and dinner schedules? Still happening on their timeline, not yours.
In other words, Daylight Saving Time might mess with your clock, but your little humans and furry friends are totally unaware.
Enjoy the longer days while they last - Daylight Saving Time ends on Sunday, November 1, 2026, when we 'fall back'.
That is when the real whining begins.
