Several small businesses in Genesee County received some much-needed help.

A new grant will help the Genesee County Land Bank remove some blight around the city.

The Michigan Department of Transportation has awarded a grant to bring 2,200 new jobs to Detroit.

Some out of work Michigan employees are now eligible for $1,650 grants.

It's not a lot but at least its something.

Ford Motor Company recently gave Kettering students a grant and they are putting it to good use. The students are using the fund to help with some changes at a local hoop house run by Ashbury Church.

Thanks a new grant, the Flint Fire Department will be able to purchase some valuable equipment. Each fire engine will now carry a special thermal imaging camera.

It wasn't too long ago that we reported on Flint raising taxes and laying off police and firefighters.  Luckily, those firefighters will be keeping their jobs, thanks to a $6.9 million dollar grant, which was finalized today by city officials.
