Take a Pirate Ship to and From Mackinac Island

I'm all about going to Mackinac Island especially if that means I get to take a pirate ship there.

According to WXYZ, Star Line Mackinac Island Hydro-Jet Ferry announced this week it will launch Mackinac Pirate Adventure Tour excursions to the island starting June 19.

The ship is called The Good Fortune and features daily trips to and from the island from June 19 through September 6th. Obviously this is the perfect way to travel to the island especially if you have kids. And yes, there are water cannons on the ship and dressing like a pirate is highly encouraged.

You can still enjoy The Good Fortune even if you don't have kids because the ship also has a bar for nightly cruises.

Tickets for the pirate adventure tours are $35 for adults and $20 for kids ages 5 - 12. More information on the excursions can be found here.

I haven't been to Mackinac Island is 13 years. My son was only 2 years old at the time and doesn't remember a thing. I think it might be time to plan another trip to the island.

The City of Mackinac Island is asking all travelers to wear a mask while visiting by the way.
