The First Rule Is, You Do Not Talk About Detroit Fight Club…
I'm not sure that this is what Tyler Durden had in mind for a fight club.
Yes, there is such a thing as Detroit Fight Club. No, it is not what you think it is or anything like the movie for that matter. Detroit Fight Club is based around medieval combat.
If you ever wondered what it would have been like to fight in medieval times, well, you are in luck. Detroit Fight Club trains fighters and teams in medieval combat formats for competitions and demos. Some of the formats include melee, duels, and armored MMA.
If you want to learn how to fight while wearing a suit of armor, you can get a free taste of the action with Detroit Fight Club. All you have to do is fill out a waiver, pick your first practice dates (Tuesday or Wednesday nights at 7:30 pm,) and arrive at the practice wearing comfortable exercise apparel and athletic groin protection. I'm not going to lie, any free trial that requires a cup makes me worry.
Detroit Fight Club also participates in demos and competitions, including the Arnold Classic in Columbus, Ohio. The Arnold Sports Festival is a massive four-day event that includes over 60 different sports and events and over 20,000 athletes. Athletes in bodybuilding, strength sports, strongman, fitness, combat sports, and more all come together to compete in their craft.
If you are looking to try this out, Detroit Fight Club trains at 22222 Telegraph Road in Southfield. To get complete details and more information, click here.
