The season is winding down for the Tigers and there has not been a lot to cheer about this year. Most Tigers fans know that this is the start of a rebuilding process so there are going to be some bumps in the road to make this team a playoff, or even better -- a World Series contender in the future.

The Tigers retired yet another number from the 1984 World Series team (#47 Jack Morris was the other). One of my favorite players growing up was Alan Trammell. Playing shortstop for the Tigers for his entire career he was one of the main pieces for the success of the team back int the 80s.

2018 has been very good to Trammell who was recently voted into the Baseball Hall of Fame located in Cooperstown, New York (on my bucket list to visit). On Sunday his number was put up on the brick wall in Comerica Park outfield and will forever be among those of the other Tiger greats. Congratulations on a well deserved and long overdue honor, if you ask me.
