Tuscola County Man Wins $1 Million Michigan Lottery Jackpot

A Tuscola County man hit the jackpot, winning $1 million while playing the Michigan Lottery's Lotto 47 game.

The winning ticket was purchased on Wednesday, August 19th, 2026, at Richville Gas, on West Saginaw Road in Reese. According to Michigan Lottery Connect, the lucky player does not normally buy his tickets at this store.

I play Lotto 47 once a month, and this ticket I purchased from a store I don’t usually go to. I was watching TV the night of the drawing when my wife told me someone won the lottery with a ticket purchased at Richville Gas. When she said the prize was won on Lotto 47, I pointed to the ticket on the fridge and had her read off my numbers once I pulled up the results online.

The winning numbers were 04-06-07-09-26-42. As you will see on the ticket below, it was a perfect match.

Like most Michigan Lottery winners, he opted for a lump-sum payout of $693,000.

He already has a few plans in mind for his winnings. First, he plans to pay off his mortgage, then take a well-deserved vacation. After taking care of those two things, he plans to save the rest of the money for the future.

I have never played Lotto 47 before. My go-to Michigan Lottery games are Powerball, Mega Millions, or an instant ticket. Actually, I just won $5 on a Michigan Lottery instant ticket yesterday- be jealous.
