What Time is Too Early for MI Snowplows to Clear Your Streets

After being woken up by the sounds of snowplows and snowblowers at 2:15 am this morning, I started wondering how early is too early to start plowing snow in residential neighborhoods?

A lot of Michiganders feel that it's never too early to have their streets cleared. While I agree with that for the most part, it's also really annoying when you're trying to sleep.

I was kind of surprised to hear pickup trucks plowing snow this morning, especially since we didn't get any major snow last night. I'm sure they were just just going above and beyond and clearing our neighborhood from Saturday's storm but damn, it was so loud.

By no means am I complaining, it's really more of an observation. I really do appreciate the streets and sidewalks being cleared, I just don't think I've ever heard snowplows out so early in the morning.

While trying to find out what the average time drivers plow snow in the morning, I stumbled on a thread where they discussed this very topic. One driver even said, that he doesn't care if he wakes people up or not.

personally i dont care if people wake up or not if i am up they should be too its not the nicest way of thinking but ive had it out with one of the tennants of the senior building i own and plow she comes out her front door screaming that its 2 30 in the morning and i have the snowblower on ranting and raving so i shut it off and said look lady its snowing and i have to clear the snow i do it earlier and the snow falls on it and i have to do it again if i wait til morning your already out complaining that i didnt plow if i wait and you fall your going to try and sue me, she wasnt expecting me to yell back but she went inside and i finisned my job.

I don't know what annoyed me more about his comment, his salty attitude or the fact the he never used a capital "I" while discussing the topic.

At the end of the day, you're never going to please everybody.

After writing, I feel like the old man yelling at kids to get off my lawn. I think I'm just cranky from waking up so early this morning.
