Toys ‘R’ Us Could Be Closing All Stores In U.S.
A small piece of my soul may have just died. Reports are saying that Toy 'R' Us might be liquidating all of its' properties in the United States.
According to Bloomberg, anonymous sources have said that the toy retailer might liquidate and close stores. This move makes sense after filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in September of last year. Since then, the retailer and its' lenders have not been able to agree on a way to proceed.
Stores like this closing is not a new thing in today's world. Many stores have trouble trying to keep up with Amazon and other online stores. Unfortunately, it's the way life is.
This really bums me out. My brothers and I grew up going to Toys 'R' Us. If you wanted the new toy or game system, you saved your money and begged your parents to take you there to make the purchase. There was also something so satisfying about wandering around the store trying to figure out the best purchase to make with your birthday or Christmas money.
This is truly a sad thing for the kid in all of us.
