Why do Michiganders keep confusing a train of bright lights in the sky for UFOs?

These days, there are so many drones flying around that it's difficult to tell them apart from actual UFOs. Every time someone sees something out of the ordinary, they always assume it's little green aliens.

I do understand why people freak out when they see a train of bright lights in the sky. I mean, if you don't know what it is and had no idea it existed, it can be a little freaky.

What Is That Train of Bright Lights in the Sky?

If you look up on a clear night and happen to see a string of lights moving through the sky, it's Starlink, not a bunch of UFOs.

What is Starlink?

Starlink is a satellite internet constellation operated by SpaceX. It provides satellite internet access coverage to over 55 countries. According to Starlink, it is the world's first and largest satellite constellation using a low Earth orbit to deliver broadband internet.

On June 12th, someone I know witnessed Starlink flying overhead. She clearly had no idea what it was when she posted, "WHAT In THE HELL was this????"

I see this all the time on social media when Starlink flies overhead.

She didn't say that it was an actual UFO but you know she was thinking it in the back of her mind. I know I would be if I was unaware.

Ever since the launch of Starlink, people that are unaware of its existence, think they are seeing aliens. Nobody wishes for that to be true more than me. Unfortunately, it's nothing more than satellites that basically offer killer wifi for those living in rural areas.
