University of Michigan Cancels Saturday’s Game Against Iowa
Michigan Football has officially announced that they are cancelling Saturday's game against Iowa due to Covid-19 concerns.
This was the last regular season game scheduled for the Wolverines, and it was supposed to be a prime time matchup against Iowa. Champions Week in the BIG10 started as full schedule of big matchups, but games are being cancelled left and right. Indiana and Purdue have also decided to cancel their long standing rivalry game this weekend due to Covid concerns.

The cancellation for Michigan ends an already disappointing season on another negative turn. The Wolverines will finish the 2020 season with a 2-4 record, and they are the only team in the BIG10 to cancel three consecutive weeks. This all adds confusion to the biggest question about Michigan Football . . . will Harbaugh return?
Michigan AD Warde Manuel gave a statement about the cancellation in a press release earlier today.
The number of positive tests over the past three weeks, which require a 21-day unavailability period, and the contact tracing requirements associated with those numbers has pushed our current list of unavailable student-athletes to over 50. This is a very unfortunate situation, and we are disappointed that our program will not be able to finish the season against the Hawkeyes
So what does this mean for the current state of Michigan Football? Well, I think it's safe to assume that they won't be going to any Bowl Games this year. This will definitely go down as one of the most disappointing years in recent memory.
Now that the business of playing football is over, the off the field business is going to be front and center. Michigan has a lot to figure out right now with Harbaugh, and their upcoming recruiting class. There won't be any decision that will make everyone happy, but hopefully they will be able to do what will give the program the best chance to be competitive again.
