Danish rockers Volbeat join the growing list of bands with lineup changes this month -- yesterday they announced that guitarist Thomas Bredahl was no longer a member of the band.

Volbeat themselves broke the news of their guitarists departure, posting the following statement regarding the seemingly mutual split between the band and their guitarist of 5 years:

"Volbeat has decided to part ways with Thomas Bredahl. Being in a band is in many ways similar to a marriage with ups and downs. At times you can work it out and sometimes you need to go separate ways...We want to thank him for the work he has put in for Volbeat and we wish him all the best in the future. Volbeat will play all shows as announced, either as a trio or with a replacement guitarist. Right now we’ll take a well deserved break and we will be back on the road in January, ready to rock the Gigantour and Wacken."

Bredahl replaced guitarist Franz "Hellboss" Gottschalk in 2006 during the recording of Volbeat's sophomore album 'Rock the Rebel/Metal the Devil.' The band will be, as they mentioned, part of the Megadeth headlined Gigantour that will also feature Motorhead and Lacuna Coil.
