Apparently it's becoming trendy for people to blame their actions on the music of Marilyn Manson again -- a 29-year old Texas woman did just that after burning down her father's home month.

Christina Paz, a 29-year old woman living in El Paso, Texas, gave her father an unwanted, late Christmas present when she reportedly set his house ablaze on December 27th.

According to the El Paso Times, Paz told police she was "angry at her mom and dad for trying to kill her on Christmas Day, that they had planned to sodomize her and chop her up with the help of a neighbor." The disillusioned woman then claimed that she learned of their plan "through the music of Marilyn Manson and Nine Inch Nails."

Paz was discovered standing in front of the burning house by police and immediately told them she was responsible for setting the fire -- which she started by lighting a mattress, on which she had poured highly flammable glue, before moving to another room and lighting the curtains. Luckily no one was injured in the blaze -- her father was ill and staying in a nursing home.

Paz is facing felony arson charges and is in police custody with a $20,000 bond. She's old enough to remember that the media blaming Marilyn Manson for the Columbine shootings didn't work, so why would it work here? Besides, everyone knows that Manson and Trent Reznor haven't worked together in years.
