A Wyandotte police officer is earning well-deserved praise for stepping in to help a local woman who was trying to mow her lawn while using a walker.

While on duty in the area, Officer Jonathan Cox saw Dory Oliver struggling and stopped to help. He pulled over and offered assistance to the Wayne County resident.

Pretty incredible, right? But that’s not where the story ends. Not only did the Wyandotte police officer step in to help Dory right then and there, but he went a step further.

After finishing his shift, he went back to her home to continue working on her lawn. According to WXYZ-TV, Officer Cox spent several days clearing brush, cleaning gutters, and performing other tasks. Talk about going the extra mile.

As you can imagine, Dory Oliver was beyond thankful for the help. Ms. Oliver shared this message with the Wyandotte Police Chief,

I'm just still in awe of what he did for me. He doesn't even know me. He just took care of what was impossible for me because I can't walk without the walker. I just have to commend him, and I just thank him so much.

I have a feeling this is just the beginning of a wonderful friendship between Officer Cox and Dory Oliver. In fact, Dory now refers to him as her adopted son.

The Wyandotte officer does indeed plan on helping Dory with her lawn again. I could not love this anymore.

Well done, Officer Jonathon Cox, well done.
