Initially I didn't pick up COD: Black Ops because I was mediocre (at best) at Modern Warfare. Now that I've seen the awesome trailer for all new DLC which includes a zombie campaign inspired by George A. Romero,  I instantly regret not already owning it. Well done Activision, you win this round.

The new downloadable map pack for Black Ops is called Escalation and is due out May 3rd (Xbox Live, probably July on PS3). It will not only include 4 new multiplayer maps (Zoo, Hotel, Convoy, and Stockpile) but also will include what looks like a multiplayer zombie campaign.

The story was inspired by none other than Zombie Master George A. Romero, writer and director of Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead, Day of the Dead...the list goes on. The guy basically invented the zombie genre as we know it today. Which is why I was surprised last year when I heard he wasn't having much luck at breaking into video games. He said he has been interested for some time and nobody was really trying to get on board with him. Now he is the inspiration for, and is literally in a video game. Thanks to Activision we have what looks like an awesome batch of DLC headed our way which also stars Danny Trejo (Machete), Sarah Michelle Gellar (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Robert Englund (Freddy Krueger), and Michael Rooker (Mallrats). Enough talk, check out the Grindhouse-style trailer for Call of the Dead.
