2012 Preview

There are plenty of stink-bombs coming to theaters in 2012. Despite all the sequel/prequel/3D re-release B.S. headed our way, there will be some truly original films like the historically inaccurate (yet extremely awesome) 'Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.'

Shinedown will follow up their massive hit record 'The Sound of Madness' with what's expected to be one of the biggest rock albums of the year, and depending on it's direction -- possibly one of the biggest albums released in any genre.

One of the best thrill rides on television this year was the breakout success (and eventual disappointment) 'The Killing' on AMC. The character-driven murder mystery aims for redemption as producers promise to answer the question posed by the show's tagline -- "Who Killed Rosie Larsen?"

One of the most anticipated album of 2012 is the in-the-works disc from UK three-piece Muse. The band has always had an innovative alt-rock sound, but they're looking to push the boundaries even further with their sixth full-length album.

Never before has there been a superhero movie with this big of a build to it's release. It may have taken five separate films to set up, but 'The Avengers' is a lock to become of the biggest blockbusters of all time when it hits theaters in May 2012.

There are more exciting things happening on the small screen in 2012 than in theaters. One of those exciting events being the return of drunken author and ladies' man Hank Moody in season 5 of Showtime's hilariously raunchy 'Californictaion.'

Beginning our countdown of kick-ass films headed our way in 2012 is a film that's kind of a wild card. While it may start with a typical premise -- 'The Cabin in the Woods' looks to be nothing like your average slasher flick.

While preparing to do our annual preview of the best movies coming to theaters in 2012, we found that an unusually high amount of turds were on their way as well. Here's a look at some movies you'll want to steer clear of in the new year....
