10 Year-Old Girl Dies in Skiing Accident in Northern Michigan

A 10 year-old girl has passed away after being injured in a skiing accident on New Year's Day at Crystal Mountain Ski Resort in Benzie County.

According to WDIV, the little girl was part of a group that were taking ski lessons on an intermediate trail. Apparently she was a bit ahead of the group and somehow lost control and crashed into a tree. She was wearing a helmet.

She was airlifted to a hospital in Grand Rapids where she later died from her injuries.

The girl was visiting from Illinois with her family.
