Benefit to Support Flint Girl Seeking Bone Marrow Donor, This Sat
This Saturday the community will come together to help a young women in need with medical bills, rent and lost wages during a very difficult time.
Korrina Rusch was recently diagnosed with Aplastic Anemia, a rare but serious blood condition that occurs when your bone marrow cannot make enough new blood cells for your body to work normally.
The only cure for this rare blood disorder is a bone marrow transplant. Unfortunately, Korrina's doctors have been unable to find a match for her.
Korrina will be going through extensive immunosuppressive therapy while waiting for a viable donor. During therapy, Korrina and her mother Stefani will be making several trips per week to Karmanos Cancer Insitute in Detroit. Once a donor match is found they will be lving in Detroit for several months during the transplant process.
