WNEM Mid-Michigan News Anchor Exits After Six Years On-Air
Mid-Michigan will no longer be waking up with a popular morning news anchor.
Blake Keller, the Wake-Up Anchor at WNWM TV5, has left the station. He bid farewell to viewers on Friday, April 4, 2025. Blake had been with the station for six years.
Keller did not disclose his plans for the future, but he mentioned that he would be in the Metro Detroit and Mid-Michigan area.
This leaves two open positions at local news stations. Matt Franklin left ABC 12 in Flint at the end of March 2025. Like Blake Keller, Matt Franklin has not revealed his plans yet.
Neither have posted anything on social media, believe me - I have been checking.
When Matt left, I thought former WNEM TV-5 news anchor David Custer would be a good candidate. To be clear, that was purely my speculation and opinion. I’ve always liked him on the air and thought it would be cool to see him co-anchor with Angie Hendershot.
Currently, no replacements have been announced for Blake Keller or Matt Franklin.
We wish Blake Keller all the best in his future endeavors. If you missed it, you can watch Blake's farewell video below.
