ABC 12 anchorman Matt Franklin said goodbye to Michigan viewers last night.

Co-anchor Angie Hendershot was tearing up as she spoke about sharing the news desk with Franklin for two decades. After her words, a moving montage showcased Matt Franklin's dedication to the news and how much he means to the community.

However, it is not goodbye after all. Yes, Matt Franklin will no longer be on the news, but from all accounts, he is staying in the area. As for what he will be doing now, that remains to be seen.

I was hoping he would reveal his plans last night during his final broadcast, no such luck. Matt teased viewers to watch his Facebook page for an upcoming announcement.

Do you have any thoughts on what it might be? From the outpouring of love after he first announced he was leaving ABC 12, it is clear that Mid-Michigan is glad he is staying close.

If you missed it, you can watch Matt Franklin's farewell broadcast below. Kudos to ABC 12 for putting together such a nice tribute.

Like you, I will be watching Matt's Facebook page for news on his next adventure.

Congratulations, Matt, for 20 years in broadcast news at ABC 12. We can't wait to see what you do next.
