Burton Elementary School Moves To Virtual Learning For Two Weeks

An elementary school in Burton is moving to all online classes for the next few weeks.

As the school year goes on, outbreaks continue to happen within the school districts in Michigan. Barhitte Elementary School in the Bentley Community School District has now switched to virtual learning for their students. The switch to virtual learning started today for the school.

The reason for the switch back to all online classes was made after a number of teachers that are now quarantined due to the COVID-19 virus. Even though the staff is now quarantined, they are still able to teach remotely. Students are expected to return to Barhitte Elementary School on Monday, November 16th. 

For students that need to pick up their devices or learning materials, parents will be able to pick them up until 3 pm today (Monday, November 2nd, 2020.)

Food pickups will be available for the next two days. Those food pickups can be made today and tomorrow from 11:30 am until 1:30 pm or 4 pm until 6 pm. Following that, food pickups can be made on Wednesdays and Fridays at Bentley High School from 11:30 am until 1:30 pm and 4 pm until 6 pm.

Unfortunately, I see this being a pretty frequent occurrence for this school year. Many schools have been dancing between in-person classes and virtual learning since the start of the year. It is inevitable that cases of COVID-19 will pop up in the schools as time goes on. It's very frustrating, but just remember, there isn't a whole lot we can do about it right now. We've all gotta roll with the punches of 2020.
