Chevy Chase Coming to Detroit For ‘Christmas Vacation’ Screening and Q&A
"We’re going to have the hap-hap-happiest Christmas since Bing Crosby tap-danced with Danny f***ing Kaye!” — Clark Griswold
It's the gift that keeps on giving the whole year. Chevy Chase, aka Clark Griswold, is coming to Detroit for a special 'Christmas Vacation' screening and Q&A.
According to The Detroit News, The comedy legend will appear at Detroit's Masonic Temple on Dec. 9 (6 pm) for a screening of his 1989 holiday classic "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation," and will participate in a Q&A session following the film.
When do tickets go on sale?
Tickets go on sale Friday, September 17 at 12 pm. Pre-sale tickets went on sale through Axs.com today at noon. We're not sure about tickets prices but if they're anything like other venues in the country, they could range anywhere from $45 to $75. Now before you buy your tickets, heads up, proof of vaccination is required for this all-ages event.
There is an opportunity for VIP tickets but it just really depends on the state of the pandemic. I think buying VIP with the possibility of meeting Chevy Chase would be cool as hell but a little risky. I doubt things will get much better by December.
Seriously, this is the most awesome thing I've heard all year. When I saw Christmas Vacation in theaters back in 1989, it immediately became my favorite Christmas Movie and one of my all-time favorites overall.
