Chipotle Coming to Grand Blanc…for Real This Time

Things at the new Grand Blanc Marketplace are shaping up nicely as the complex is really starting to come to life with new businesses.

Grand Blanc residents have been hearing rumors of Chipotle coming to town for years, this time it looks like it's actually going to happen. At least that's what we're hoping for.

According to ABC 12, Grand Blanc city officials have verified the submission of plans for a Chipotle Mexican Grill, set to occupy the newly opened commercial building near the intersection of Saginaw Road and Bella Vista Drive since last winter.

If the plans are approved and it all goes through, Chipotle will join other businesses in the new plaza including Jersey Mike's. Starbucks, Athletico physical therapy, Lencrafters, and Smoothie King.

Back in 2022, we told you how there were plans to put Chipotle on the corner of Saginaw Street and Bush Avenue in the vacant lot next to Rite Aid. It would have been a brand new 2,300-square-foot building. For whatever reason, it never happened.

Of course with the announcement of any new business in Grand Blanc, you get negative feedback as one person on Facebook pointed out that there would be parking issues:

When Starbucks moved to its new location I thought all the parking issues would be gone, yet it turns out this parking lot is actually not much better. Now throw in a couple of extra fast food options and you may need to park in Kroger and cross Saginaw now.

Chipotle's plans are under review this week. Fingers crossed!
