Christmas Vacation Turns 30 and Returns to The Big Screen
The Griswolds are returning to the big screen to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Christmas Vacation. On December 1st 1989 National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation was released and has since become a huge holiday cult classic.
This is by far my favorite holiday movie of all time. Every year at my house, we officially kick off the holiday season by watching Christmas Vacation while putting up the Christmas tree. I think I've watched Christmas Vacation more times than any other movie in my life. I can perfectly recite every line which I would imagine is annoying as hell, but it's impossible to watch without doing it.
"Oh, the silent majesty of a winter's morn; the clean, cool chill of the holiday air; and an assh*le in his bathrobe, emptying a chemical toilet into my sewer." - Clark Griswold
This year things are going to be a little different as we get to watch the movie on the big screen just like I did 30 years ago. Unfortunately, the movie won't be showing in Grand Blanc or Flint so it looks like we're going to have to drive to Auburn Hills to see it at AMC Star Great Lakes 25 (Dec 5). There's showing all over the state but for some reason, we're getting screwed here in Flint.
