Claressa Shields picked up another huge honor this week as she was named one of the Forbes 30 Under 30 for 2022.

Shields is no stranger to the spotlight, but this is the first time that she has appeared on the Forbes list. I had to do a double-take when her name showed up on the list because sometimes it's hard to remember that she is so young.

Shields has accomplished so much in her 26 years, that it seems like she must be older. We've detailed Shields many record-breaking moments over the years. She has truly earned her GWOAT title, and the honor from Forbes is more than deserved.

I think Shields personifies what the Forbes 30 Under 30 list is all about. The group is supposed to represent innovators, trailblazers, and disrupters shaping the future.

All of the honorees in the Forbes Under 30 class of 2022 have defied the odds: navigating a global pandemic, supply chain crunches and isolation to build ventures that are resilient and destined to change the world

I don't know if there is anyone on the list that fits the description from Forbes better than Shields. The struggles that she has faced in Flint have helped to build her into the hero that she is today.

It should be noted that Shields has reached worldwide fame through her boxing, but she has never left Flint behind. She is active in the city all year long with youth programs and many other initiatives to help lift up the city.

We have been looking forward to Shields getting back in the boxing ring, but plans have changed slightly.

Shields will still be fighting, but the fight has been delayed until January 29th.
