If you’ve been avoiding Saginaw Street in Grand Blanc, trust me, you’re not the only one. It’s been a nonstop traffic jam since the city started construction back on August 4.

One lane each way, long backups, and drivers sneaking through neighborhoods and annoying residents. Yeah, it’s been a mess.

But hey, at the end of the day, if we want our roads in working condition, we’ll have to put up with a little mess along the way.

Saginaw Street Construction Start Date in Grand Blanc

The project kicked off in early August and runs from Grand Blanc Road down to Case Avenue. It landed right in the middle of back-to-school traffic and even overlapped with the Back to the Bricks Rolling Cruise. Crews actually had to hit pause during the cruise just so traffic could get through.

Saginaw Street Grand Blanc Construction End Date

According to the city, the project is scheduled to be wrapped up by September 25. That is the official deadline. The good news is crews are moving quicker than expected, so the barrels could be gone by early to mid-September if everything stays on track.

How Long Will the New Road Last on Saginaw Street

Once the work is complete, drivers should not have to deal with another major rebuild for at least 25 years. So while the past few weeks have been nothing more than a headache, the payoff will be a smooth ride for decades to come. At least, that's what they're saying.
