Crews Begin Demolition of Farmer Jack Building in Grand Blanc [PICS]
Looks like more work has begun on the former Farmer Jack building in Grand Blanc.
Grand Blanc residents are now seeing more work being done to the future Grand Blanc Marketplace near Saginaw Street and Holly Road. Photos have begun to surface of the former Farmer Jack building being demolished.
This is great news for those in the community as things are finally starting to happen. When the new Grand Blanc Marketplace was announced many months ago, the excitement was high. However, most residents haven't really seen a lot of progress since then.
Back in May, it was announced that the Grand Blanc Marketplace will now also feature an Amazon Fresh store. This store will join Jersey Mike's sub shop, Panda Express, 2941 Street Food, and other stores when the renovation is completed.
This location is the former home of Farmer Jack and Kmart. Farmer Jack closed the doors for good in 2007, followed by Kmart closing in 2014. The buildings have been vacant ever since.
As a Grand Blanc resident, I'm glad to see this particular corner being developed. It will just add to the many shopping options we have in the area. After shopping at the same places for so long though, it will be nice to have a change.
What else would you like to see go into this plaza? My vote is for a Smoothie King. That is my favorite smoothie shop from the few years I lived in Mississippi and I'm glad one finally opened in Flint. If I could just get one closer to Grand Blanc, I will be a happy camper.
