You really question what the world is coming to when a mother sneaks a knife into a middle school and gives it to her daughter to stab a classmate.

That’s exactly what happened on Wednesday at Gompers Elementary-Middle School in Detroit. According to FOX 2 Detroit, a 14-year-old girl used the knife to stab another student in the neck and shoulder after the two had some kind of disagreement.

Detroit Mother Sneaks Knife Into Middle School, Teen Stabs Classmate

Investigators say the teen’s mom snuck the knife into the school and handed it to her daughter right there on campus. Even worse, the weapon was detected by a metal detector, but the security guard on duty never searched the woman. He just let her walk right through. That guard has since been removed from the school while an investigation takes place.

Both the student and her mother were arrested, and police say there are no additional threats to students.

The victim was rushed to the hospital and is thankfully in stable condition.

Classes at Gompers have been canceled for Thursday while officials review safety protocols and hold a family meeting to discuss what happened.

It’s hard to believe a parent would ever sneak a weapon into a school and hand it to their child. No argument or disagreement could ever justify that. It’s really hard to wrap your head around the situation.

This incident is absolutely unbelievable.
