Finally Paid Off! MI Man Wins $1.5M Lottery Using Kids’ Birthdays
Being persistent with his numbers paid off big for this Livingston County man.
Playing the lottery often comes with a lot of superstitions for players. Many people play the same numbers over and over, while others only use particular stores and machines to buy their tickets. Staying consistent helped this Livingston County man with the Lotto 47 jackpot.

A 64-year-old man stopped into Kroger in Pinckney to get his usual Lotto 47 ticket back in January. As always he decided to play his special set of numbers and ended up winning a $1.5 million jackpot.
I play Lotto 47 often and I always play my special sets of numbers made up of my kids' birthdates...I was checking the winning numbers online the day after the drawing, and when I realized I’d won the jackpot, I couldn’t believe it! I called my kids right away to tell them the good news, and they didn’t believe it either. Winning still feels unreal and hasn’t sunk in quite yet...says the anonymous winner via Fox 2
The one-time, lump-sum payout was $797,000, which the man decided to take instead of annual payments.
This story brings me hope as I also use a fair number of birthdays in my ticket purchases. Unfortunately, I have not had this kind of luck. I probably never will, but hey, there's no harm in dreaming. However, if I disappear out of the blue one day, it can mean one of two things. Either I hit the lottery or the FBI finally accepted my application to become a super spy.
