The Flint Firebirds are back for the 2022-2023 season!

After an amazing 2021-2022 season, the Flint Firebirds are back to take another run at the championship! The Firebirds will officially kick off the new season on Saturday, October 1st, 2022 at the Dort Financial Center.

So far, the Flint Firebirds are off to a great start. The team ranked a franchise-best 7th place landing in the Kia Canadian Hockey League Top 10. This achievement also marks the third straight season that the Flint Firebirds have made the CHL Top 10.

The Firebirds team is stacked this year and carries six drafted or signed NHL players to start the year. Those six include team captain Brennan Othman (New York Rangers,) Amadeus Lombardi (Detroit Red Wings,) Gavin Hayes (Chicago Blackhawks,) Dmitry Kuzmin (Winnipeg Jets,) Will Cranley (St. Louis Blues,) and Braeden Kressler (Toronto Maple Leafs.) When it comes to the Ontario Hockey League, the Flint Firebirds are the second highest ranked team.

After the Home Opener, the team will hit the road for two games and take on the Soo Greyhounds and the Guelph Storm. On Saturday, October 8th, the Firebirds will return to home ice to take on the Sudbury Wolves.
