According to ABC 12, the City of Flint is bringing back its Tire Buyback Program on Saturday, June 27, giving residents a chance to turn unwanted tires into a little extra cash.

The deal is pretty simple: bring in your old tires and get $1 per tire, up to $25 per household.

No, you’re not going to get rich doing this, but if you’ve got a pile of junk tires taking up space, this is an easy way to clean things up and put a few bucks in your pocket. And trust me, your neighbors will probably appreciate it.

You’ll need proof of Flint residency to participate, so don’t forget your ID.

City officials say old tires are more than just an eyesore. They collect standing water, attract mosquitoes, and often end up dumped in neighborhoods.

I used to have a neighbor with tires all over his yard, and let me tell you, it was not a great look. Don’t be that neighbor.
