Before you freak out over the headline of this story, keep in mind that the production shift to Mexico opens the doors for more production in Michigan. Ford will be able to focus more on self-driving cars in its Michigan plants.

This move will allow Ford to hire 700 workers at one of the Detroit area plants. They will also be investing $700 million in the projects.

The electric SUV's will now be made at a plant just outside of Mexico City.
