Genesys Hospital Places Restrictions On Visitors Due To Flu
If you have a loved one in the hospital, Ascension Genesys Hospital is asking you not to visit them if you are showing signs of the flu.
With the cold and flu season in full swing, the staff at Genesys is trying to keep patients and employees safe from the illness. On Monday, the Ascension healthcare network added restrictions to visitors at many of their hospitals across the country. The flu season is the reason behind this.
In the effort to keep visitors and patients protected, the hospitals are asking that you not visit the facility if you have cold or flu-like symptoms including a cough or fever. The healthcare officials are also asking that visitors be at least 14 years of age and older. They are also trying to limit the patients to just two visitors at a time.
Having spent the better part of the last two weeks visiting someone in the hospital, I think this is reasonable and a great idea. Of course we want to visit our loved ones, but it's not worth exposing patients to other illnesses that could make them worse.
