A Grand Blanc man recently took a chance with the Michigan Lottery's Powerball subscription option and it paid off big time.

According to ABC12, Ken Belcher matched four of the five white balls in the Feb. 27 drawing to win $50,000. He purchased the Powerplay through the Michigan Lottery website, which tripled his winnings to $150,000.

Belcher is no stranger to playing the lottery but this was his first time he bought a Powerball subscription. The subscription service allows players to automatically have their tickets purchased for them depending on the game and how many tickets they want to buy each time.

Not only did he win $150,000 but he won on his very first time using the subscription service.

I've been going back and forth on trying the subscription feature since it first became available back in November. For some reason I just felt it would never pay out...boy, was I wrong.

Ken Belcher:

I like to play Club Keno and one day when I was checking my numbers, I decided to buy a subscription for Powerball. I hit the $150,000 on the next drawing, so I got in at just the right time.

Yeah, I'd say he got in at the right time alright.

You play for all these years and win a little here and there, and then one random decision to buy a subscription leads to a huge win. It’s unbelievable!
I just so happen to know Ken and couldn't be happier for him and his family. So freaking cool, congrats Ken!
