Groundhog Stealthily Breaks Into Flint, MI Radio Station

Some local radio stations in Flint had a sneaky visitor in the building this week.

As far as Mondays go, this past Monday was one to remember. Let me set the scene for you and go back a bit. Here at Townsquare Media in Flint, our building is located a bit off the main road and surrounded by a lot of woods. We see all types of wildlife outside including deer, turkeys, skunks, and more.

While the wildlife is great to see out the windows when taking a break, one particular creature decided to build a home under our building. A good-sized groundhog has spent the better part of a year evading being captured by our engineer. Numerous skunks and other animals were captured and relocated during that time, but the groundhog was able to remain free. That is until the little guy decided to breach security and enter the building the other day.

On Monday, March 11th, 2024, the groundhog was able to sneak into the building. In the security footage below, you can see the little guy plotting outside the door. After months of casing the joint and learning the mail schedule, it was time to put his plan into action.

TIMELINE OF THE SECURITY BREACH:

12:19:09 PM - Making sure the coast is clear

12:19:22 PM - Hiding and preparing to make his move

12:19:46 PM - Mission is a go!

12:19:49 PM - Holy s***! It worked!

12:19:51 PM - Uh-oh, I didn't think this through...RUN!!!

***It was right around this time that our co-worker Kimmie began yelling for help. Several of us thought she was being murdered and came running. Also, it is important to note that the hallway the little bandit ran down leads directly to the sales and office area where most of the employees work.

12:19:58 PM - Panic and terror ensues. Fun fact: we now know that all of the desks in that part of the building are capable of supporting the weight of a full-grown, terrified, adult.

After a few minutes of running around, the invader was cornered in a corner office. Our engineer Aaron and I were able to then trap him with the very same trap that he had been dodging outside for almost a year.
