Halestorm has released a striking new video for the song "Dear Daughter," which originally appeared on the band's 2015 LP Into the Wild Life. According to frontwoman Lzzy Hale, the track is meant to be inspiring not just to women but to men as well.

“I'm hoping that through this song, I can spread the inspiration and empowerment that has been instilled in me,” she says in a Tumblr post. “Carve your own path, ladies (and little gents too). I'm living proof that nothing in life is impossible. “

The clip for the track comes ahead of Mother’s Day next Sunday (May 14), and Halestorm are asking fans to post photos of their mothers and daughters with their own stories of encouragement.

"This is just a very special song to me, and I'm so glad to share this with the world," Hale said prior to performing the song live today on the band's official Facebook page (and seen below). "And make sure that we keep this as an ongoing conversation, if you have any stories about your daughters or your mothers or your sister -- or women in general. Make sure that you share them online, I think that's really important and use the hashtag #deardaughter so that I can see it."

Halestorm have started thinking about their next album, but still have tour dates on their schedule. See when and where the band is playing here.
