Harbor Freight Coming to Burton – What We Know

Harbor Freight Tools has over 1,400 locations throughout the United States including 50 right here in Michigan.

You can now add one more to the growing number of locations, as Harbor Freight is planning to open a new store in Burton.

Harbor Freight joins Ross Dress for Less and Michael's, both of which have stores opening in Burton soon as well.

Where Will Harbor Freight Be Located?

We haven't been able to get much information on the location of the new store.

UPDATE: Harbor Freight will be located in the former VG's building.

We reached out to Harbor Freight on Miller Road, and they weren't entirely sure. The employee that I talked to said he's heard a couple of different stories about the location. He said that he heard it might be going into the old Lowe's building that's been vacant for years.

ABC 12 mentioned it in an article and said Michael's and Harbor Freight are planning to open locations in the shopping complex directly across the street. If that's truly the case, I'm guessing that Harbor Freight will open in the vacant VGs building. I drove through the parking lot of that shopping complex but didn't find any signage promoting Harbor Freight.

Currently, we have only one Harbor Freight store in Genesee County, located on Miller Road. Harbor Freight also opened a store in Lapeer in 2023.
