Social media is buzzing about the old Johnny's Place restaurant in Imlay City.

The popular Lapeer County spot closed earlier this year. The following message was posted on social media at that time,

To Johnny's Place friends, loved ones, family, staff and beloved patrons:
After a very long year and some deep consideration, I am sadly announcing that Johnny's Place will be closing its doors. Our last day we will be open to the public will be January 27th, 2024.
As you know now, in late 2019 I took a leap of faith and agreed to purchase what you now know as Johnny's Place. Going into this purchase in 2020, I had someone to run the day to day operations while I continued my other career. Just like the surprise of Covid, there were changes in those original plans.
You can read the announcement, in its entirety here.

A post on the Imlay City Social Club Facebook page indicated there is activity at the former restaurant, located at 145 East Capac Road.

As you can imagine, there were several responses to the post above. Many people speculated a new restaurant opening, one person even suggested a gentleman's club. However, no real information is known.

We will keep you posted on any new information. In the meantime, let us know what you would like to see open in the old Johnny's Place location.
