Update - 9/2722, 8:15 PM: It was brought to my attention that the sign on the building is not a new sign. Nonetheless, what the heck is opening here?

Out with the old, in with the new - kind of.

The building on Hill Road in Flint Township that was the former home of Sushi Land may soon be the home of a new sushi place. That is pure speculation. My guess is based on a new sign that is now hanging on the newly painted building. Speaking of painting, this new spot may feature art too. Again, pure speculation based on that very same sign.

Now that I think about it, the word 'art' may be referring to food, not actual artwork. Making food is an art and there is definitely an art to making sushi. My new theory about The Journey of Art and Taste is that food is the art.

Another theory is perhaps the place is just being rebranded. If you know exactly what is happening at The Journey of Art and Taste, please enlighten me. Until then, I will keep my eye on the place for additional information and an opening date.

From all accounts, it appears a lot of renovations are underway from the new paint on the outside of the building, to ongoing construction in the back of the building.

If you are not familiar with this spot, The Journey of Art and Taste is located at 2500 West Hill Road in Flint. Long-time area residents may remember this place was once the home of Maxie's Food and Spirits. Now that is a blast from the past.
