We have always enjoyed those lists and studies that spotlight the best of the best when it comes to food. Whether it's restaurants or food trucks, we're here for all the culinary bliss, but what about those places that well, fall short?

Recently Yahoo Finance dropped an interesting list of the "13 Worst Rated Fast Food Restaurants in America". It's not exactly the list you want to be on, but they compiled the breakdown according to information from Reddit.

"We went through multiple Reddit threads and used search terms like “worst fast-food in the US”, “worst fast-food chains in America”, and “America’s worst fast-food restaurants” to find relevant threads", they commented.

So what fast food chain ended up in the position that they surely didn't want? That honor, or dishonor, goes to Long John Silver's. The seafood-focused restaurant with 540 locations scattered across the United States earned the #1 slot because a "huge number of Redditors pointed out problems with food quality at Long John Silver’s. Several Redditors labeled the chain as simply awful", according to the report. 

The chain's first restaurant opened on August 18, 1969, in Lexington, Kentucky. As of the end of 2023, there were a total of 21 Long John Silver's throughout the state of Michigan.
