It looks like things are going to warm up in Michigan this week.

It's not uncommon for Michigan to see warmer temps in early October. However, warmer temps in late October isn't something that happens very often.
Calling it a "heat wave" may be a bit of a stretch, but when temps climb into the 70's just days before Halloween, it sure feels like it.
Record-Breaking High Temps in October 2023
If you remember, we started out the month with record-breaking temps in parts of Michigan.
On Tuesday, Oct. 3, parts of the state experienced record-high temperatures. Temperatures were in the mid-to-high-80s in much of the Upper Peninsula and Northern Michigan.
Here is a closer look at some of those record temps across Michigan:
- 88 – Traverse City, breaking record 87 set in 1922
- 87 – Alpena, breaking record of 84 set in 1922
- 85 – Gaylord, breaking the record of 84 set in 1971
- 83 – Sault Ste. Marie, breaking the record of 77 set in 1953
How Warm Will It Get in Michigan This Week?
According to The Weather Channel, mid-Michigan could see three days with temps in the 70s this week.
Tomorrow (Tuesday) we could see temps hitting as high as 74 degrees. One week before Halloween and temps will be in the mid-70s. We don't see that very often here in Michigan.
Unfortunately, those temps won't linger around long enough for trick-or-treaters. As of right now, we could see rain/snow with temps in the 40s.

The average temperature on Halloween is 55 degrees with an average low of 39.
The warmest Halloween in Michigan was in 1950 when temps hit 79 degrees.
