If you have a storage unit in Tuscola, Genesee and Saginaw County, Tuscola County Sheriff's Office are asking that you check your unit/property. There were recent thefts and some owners may not realize that their unit was broken into.

According to WNEM, back on November 25th, security cameras at the Corner Closet Mini Storage at Birch Run Road and Belsay Road showed a dark-colored Chevrolet Impala at one of the storage units.

Apparently, this sneaky thief was breaking into storage units and would put a new lock on the unit so that it would appear that it hadn't been tampered with.

Some of the stolen property has since been recovered after police used a search warrant to search a home in Saginaw County.

Police are concerned that other units may have been broken into but since the thief put new locks on them, owners would be clueless that their stuff was stolen. So if you have storage units in Tuscola, Genesee and Saginaw County, it would be in your best interest to check on them.

If you happen to find that your unit had been broken into, contact the police or specifically Deputy Coleman at 989-673-8161 ext. 4049.

I understand that times are tough but don't be a dirtbag thief. Stealing other's property isn't the answer to your problems.
