After being ordered to temporarily close last week, Lucky's Steakhouse in Davison says it's working toward reopening following a failed health department inspection.

Last week, we told you that the Genesee County Health Department cited the restaurant for several sanitation and food safety violations. Inspectors pointed to issues like improperly sanitized knives and food temperature logs that were not being monitored correctly, along with other concerns. Some of the violations dated back to 2024, with four of the six listed as repeat issues.

Lucky’s addressed the situation publicly on Facebook and didn’t try to deny what happened. Instead, they openly acknowledged the issues that led to the closure.

What Lucky’s Says It’s Fixing Before Reopening

The restaurant said it understands it had six violations and is working to fix them. During the temporary closure, Lucky’s says it’s using the time to clean things up, revamp the kitchen, and make updates before reopening.

Management says this isn’t just about reopening the doors. They say the goal is to do things better moving forward and earn back customer trust. That’s going to be the hard part, but in my opinion, everyone deserves another shot.

How Long Has Lucky’s Steakhouse Been in Davison?

Lucky’s has been part of the Davison community for nearly 30 years and says it plans to come back with what people know it for, like big steaks, generous portions, low prices, and its homemade bread. The restaurant also hinted that new menu items could be added once it reopens.

This is their one real opportunity to win back customers and maybe even gain some new ones, but it isn’t going to be easy. Especially with how quickly people are to tear down local businesses on social media these days.

When is Lucky's Steakhouse in Davison Reopening?

There’s still no official reopening date, but Lucky’s says it hopes to welcome customers back soon and keep serving the community for years to come.
