Currently, you don't exist if you don't have a social media profile. Facebook and other social media platforms have quickly become the norm for everyday life, and unknowingly we've tip-toed into a form of social control. Mark Zuckerberg has been known for the negative press that comes with Facebook, and how the algorithm focuses on negativity to generate content. And if you've got a sociopath at the head of a company that wants to lead people into dystopian virtual fantasy, it sounds like a recipe for disaster.

Unfortunately, big companies and celebrities are already doubling down on the Metaverse and it seems like it's gonna be a big part of everyone's future. Stores will have digital stores you can visit and shop like your really there. Things like that sound cool, but they never promote the technology that goes on behind the scenes. Phones, websites, apps, and even your credit/debit cards are collecting data on you. That data is then sold to third-party companies to better understand consumers.

How could that be a bad idea? Well, imagine a system that studies your every move and seduces you with a reality that doesn't exist and could ban you from it if they see fit. Facebook will own everything if the Metaverse takes off, businesses, NFT's, and anything in that universe will be in Mark Zuckerberg's hands. F##k that! This can't be a good thing when the creator is literally a James Bond villain looking to control the next step in consciousness.

I already don't trust Facebook with my information, the Metaverse will be the final nail in the coffin when it comes to personal privacy. Do some research for yourself, because everything that I've found, points towards a terrible terrible future.
