The year is 2020 and for some insane reason, cockfighting is still a real thing.

According to WXYZ, the Michigan Humane Society and Detroit police served a search warrant Tuesday at a home on Thaddeus Street in Southwest Detroit after they got a tip. The home is suspected of cockfighting breeding and being a training center.

I'll be the first to admit that I don't know a damn thing about cockfighting aside from the fact that it's illegal. And I'll be the first to admit, I had no idea that had cockfighting training centers. That is so freaking messed up.

Apparently 80 birds were recovered from the residence and some were already dead.

I feel like this something you hear about down in South America or somewhere like that, not in Michigan.

It's really hard for me to comprehend what it is about cockfight and or dogfighting that people are attracted to. Who in the hell wants to watch animals fight to the death?

According to the Michigan Humane Society, Cockfighting is a centuries-old blood sport in which two or more specially bred birds, known as gamecocks, are placed in an enclosed pit to fight, for the primary purposes of gambling and entertainment. A typical cockfight can last anywhere from several minutes to more than half an hour and usually results in the death of one or both birds.

Not one thing about that sounds appealing at all.
