6 Michigan Road Projects That Could Slow You Down This Week
The only nice thing about winter in Michigan is that most construction projects finally come to an end. Unfortunately, we’re still a ways away from that.
More than 70 road projects and special events are scheduled across Michigan between Sunday, September 13, and Saturday, September 19. We’re not going through every single one, but several are close enough to home that you’ll want to know about them.
Michigan Road Closures to Watch September 13 Through 19

I-69 in Lapeer County
If you’re heading through Imlay City this week, heads up. Westbound I-69 between M-53 and Newark Road will have left-lane closures popping up Monday through Wednesday.
M-24 in Tuscola County
If you’re driving through the Caro area this week, expect some slowdowns. Crews are resurfacing M-24 between M-46 and the Cass River Bridge, with single-lane closures throughout the week.
U.S. 10 in Bay and Midland Counties
Drivers on westbound U.S. 10 in Bay County can expect a lane closure between Carter and Flajole roads through Thursday. A couple of ramps at M-47 will also be closed on Wednesday.
Over in Midland, eastbound U.S. 10 at Lyon Road and Washington Street will be closed near the intersection. This one isn’t going away anytime soon, either. The work is expected to last around two months.
I-94 in Jackson County
If you’re driving through Jackson, expect daily lane closures on I-94 between M-60 and Michigan Avenue. The closures will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through October 8, so this headache will be sticking around for a while.
M-14 in Washtenaw County
If you’re heading west on M-14, expect one lane to be closed between North Dixboro Road and U.S. 23 through Friday afternoon. Nothing major, but it could definitely slow you down.
