Michigan State House & Senate Closed Today Due To Safety Concerns
The Michigan Electoral college will meet today at 2 p.m. and will be closing its doors for safety reasons.
Smart move, Michigan isn't the type of state to sit around be quiet about politicians they don't like. Did we already forget about the small militia group here in Michigan that had planned on kidnapping the governor? So I don't blame the state for closing down to help keep things secure.
The move comes the day before Michigan’s 16 electors are set to gather in the state Capitol to cast their votes for President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris.
The House of Representative notice adds “only those needed for the Electoral College will be permitted in the Capitol Building.
It's kinda sad that we've got the biggest vaccination event in history this week in Michigan and yet, we still have to be focused on crazy people. If you wanna be heard speak out on a public platform, or start a march. With this closure, you can tell that the state isn't taking any chances. By limiting the foot traffic on site MI state police can maintain a safer perimeter.
I'm all for democracy, I believe violence or intimidation does absolutely nothing in resolving issues. Especially on a political level. Whether the threats are real or not the state won't be taking any chances today...
