Michigan’s Favorite Halloween Candy Is Gross
I don't know who was asked in Michigan about their favorite Halloween candy, but I was not. Were you? Unfortunately, determining our states favorite candy really isn't done that way. It should be, because according to CandyStore.com our favorite Halloween candy is Candy Corn. Gross.
According to the Candy Store website, they gathered 13 years of polls. Okay - that still does not explain Candy Corn to me. Who has been buying all of the Candy Corn for the last 13 years in Michigan? I have one guess - grandparents. What's the second most favorite Halloween candy in Michigan, Werther's?
Actually coming in second place are Skittles, followed by Starburst in third place. I am not nuts over those candies either, but I would much rather taste the rainbow over Candy Corn any day of the week. If you are surprised by these findings you are not alone - even the Candy Store is surprised by some of the picks from year to year. The following statement was made on their website,
We have seen a lot of surprising favorites and least favorites over the years. That’s why working with unbiased data is so much fun. We looked at 13 years of sales data (2007-2019), looking in particular at the months leading up to Halloween. We sell nationwide (and to Canada) so we broke down our sales by state. We also have relationships with major candy manufacturers and distributors – all of whom contributed and helped us reach our conclusions.
Well who am I to question unbiased data? That being said, I still think the majority of us prefer a Kit Kat bar. Tell me your favorite Halloween candy, and don't you dare say Candy Corn.
