Yes! Olive Burger Festival Coming to Michigan in 2023
Michigan's first-ever Olive Burger Festival is coming to Lansing later this year and we couldn't be more excited.
There is nothing better than a burger covered in mayo and green olives. It's truly one of the greatest creations ever made. However, not everyone agrees with me on this. When it comes to the olive burger, you either love it or you hate it.
It may come as a surprise to you to hear that the olive burger originated in Michigan. It's true, the olive burger was first created in Flint, Michigan in 1923 at Kewpee Hotel Hamburgs. So, it makes total sense that Michiganders would celebrate the olive burger with a festival next year as this Michigan staple will be turning 100 years old.
If you go to another state, good luck finding an olive burger...it's a Michigan thing.
It’s the Olive Burger Festival, and it’s tentatively set to arrive in Lansing next summer. The administrators behind the popular Lansing Foodies Facebook group said they'll receive assistance from Facebook's Community Accelerator Program to help organize the event.
